The Elmeryl Davies Memorial Scholarship and the Suzanne Macaoay Memorial Scholarship Funds
How to Apply for the Elmeryl Davies Memorial Scholarship:
Undergraduate Students:
The LSRPA awards the Elmeryl Davies Memorial Scholarship annually to undergraduate students in their junior or senior year in a four-year accredited science or engineering program. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students to pursue careers in the environmental field and to provide students with opportunities to connect with LSRPA members through our Student Member program to obtain internships and full-time jobs upon graduation. The LSRPA will determine the amount of the scholarship based on fundraising activities.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must be a LSRPA student member who:
- Is a full-time junior or senior undergraduate who either is enrolled in a college or university located in New Jersey or is a New Jersey resident;
- Is majoring in an accredited science or engineering program, in a field related to the environment; and
- Has a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the following:
- Grade point average and other evidence of academic achievement;
- A reference from a professor in your major or from a past or current employer;
- An essay on your career goals; and
- Work experience and involvement in other activities.
Required Application Materials
- A completed signed and dated application (application can be accessed here). Applications are due October 31, 2024.
- A completed essay
- A reference letter
- Transcripts from all schools of higher education attended

- Is a full-time or part-time student at a college or university located in New Jersey or is a New Jersey resident; and
- Is pursuing a Masters degree or Ph.D. in an accredited science or engineering program, in a field related to the environment.

- A reference from a professor in your department;
- An essay on your career goals;
- Work experience and involvement in other activities.

How to Apply for the Suzanne Macaoay Memorial Scholarship:
The Suzanne Macaoay Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually by the Licensed Site Remediation Professional Association (LSRPA) to first- and second-year students at a two-year accredited science program related to the environment. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students to pursue careers in the environmental field and to provide students with opportunities to connect with LSRPA members through our Student Member program for future internships/careers. The LSRPA will determine the amount of the scholarship based on fundraising activities. At this time, it is anticipated that the awards will be $2,000 each. The scholarship is awarded in one disbursement.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must be a LSRPA student member who is:
- Either enrolled at a two-year New Jersey college, or is a resident of New Jersey who is enrolled at a two-year college outside of New Jersey; and
- Enrolled in an accredited science program (pursuing a degree in a field related to the environment) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (as applicable).
Student Memberships are free and can be obtained at www.LSRPA.org/students.
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be based on the following:
- Grade point average (as applicable);
- Reference: Provide a reference from your current college, your high school, a past or current employer, or other individual.
- An essay on your education and career goals; and
- Work experience and involvement in other activities.
Required Application Materials
- A completed signed/dated application (coming soon);
- One reference letter; and
- A transcript (to date).
