How to Apply:

Undergraduate Students:
The LSRPA awards the Elmeryl Davies Memorial Scholarship annually to undergraduate students in their junior or senior year in a four-year accredited science or engineering program. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students to pursue careers in the environmental field and to provide students with opportunities to connect with LSRPA members through our Student Member program to obtain internships and full-time jobs upon graduation.  The LSRPA will determine the amount of the scholarship based on fundraising activities.  At this time, we anticipate that the awards will be $3,000 each.  Each scholarship is awarded in one disbursement.

Graduate Students:
The LSRPA awards the Elmeryl Davies Memorial Scholarship annually to graduate students in an accredited science or engineering program. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students to pursue careers in the environmental field and to provide students with opportunities to connect with LSRPA members through our Student Member program to obtain internships and full-time jobs upon graduation.  The LSRPA will determine the amount of the scholarship based on fundraising activities.  At this time, we anticipate that the awards will be $3,000 each for full-time students and $1,000 each for part-time students.  Each scholarship is awarded in one disbursement.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant must be a LSRPA student member who is:

  • A graduate student or a junior or senior undergraduate student; 
  • Enrolled at a New Jersey college or university, or a resident of New Jersey who is enrolled at a College or University outside of New Jersey; and
  • Enrolled full time in an accredited science or engineering program (declared major in a field related to the environment) with a minimum GPA of 3.0.


Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be based on the following:

  • Grade point average;
  • Letters of Recommendation;
  • An essay on your career goals; and
  • Work experience and involvement in other activities.


Required Application Materials

  • A completed signed/dated (see the appropriate links at the top of the page); and
  • Current transcripts - undergraduate and graduate - for colleges/universities attended.
