Typically, many bedrock sites are under-characterized or overlooked for injection operations due to the insufficient data available to model the transport and determine how much water or contaminants the rock can store in the subsurface. This presentation will review the tools to successfully and succinctly characterize a fractured bedrock site, using both conventional and modern techniques and to design for high-energy injections. Real case studies will be used of high-density, vertical borehole Remedial Design Characterization - discrete groundwater and rock matrix sampling- that augments existing Conceptual Site Models and refines, or completely refreshes, the remediation design.
