The Aspiring Professionals Special Pass ($50) provides access only to the Technical Writing and Project Management Course sessions listed below and the AP Poster Contest. Those Aspiring Professionals who purchase this special pass will also be our guests at the Cocktail Reception and Exhibit Hall from 2:00pm to 8:00pm on March 26th. Only the All-Access Pass provides you with access to all programs, courses, meals and activities for the 2025 New Jersey Site Remediation Conference (listed under the main registration page starting at $350 for members).

Session Agenda

2:00pm – 2:45pm: Introduction to Project Management (Andrew Wadden and Dayann Vindas)

In this engaging and informative presentation, Andrew Wadden, Project Manager at HDR, will discuss the different phases of a project from start to finish while introducing project management principles that apply at a level tailored to young professionals. The session will cover the following project phases:

1. Marketing – finding project opportunities;
2. Proposals & Cost Estimates;
3. Contracts & Subcontracts;
4. Project kick-off & Planning;
5. Project execution, budget and schedule tracking; and
6. Project closeout.

3:00pm – 3:45pm: Technical Writing and Communication (Charlene Drake)

This session will provide an overview of NJ regulatory reports and guidance on communicating to a target audience, supporting conclusions with multiple lines of evidence and crafting grammatically correct persuasive documents. We’ll review some scenarios involving communicating risk to the public or non-technical audience that you can use to improve your in-person presentation skills.

4:00 pm - 5:00pm: AP Poster Contest Presentations & Voting

Aspiring Professional are invited to display posters during site remediation conference. Utilizing new technology or innovative processes – come talk about it! Discuss a technical topic or provide insight on a complex project you worked on. The posters will be displayed at the conference for view of the public during the conference. From 4:00pm to 5:00pm each AP who entered the contest will have 5-10 minutes to give a short synopsis of their presentation. The winner of the poster contest will receive a $300 gift card and courtesy Associate Membership. Click here to submit your name and email to enter the Poster Contest.

5:30pm: Reception – Poster Contest Winner Announced

The registration fee to attend is $50 for all Aspiring Professional attendees. NOTE: If you are already registered for the All-Access Conference pass, you do not need to register for this special event.
