Contaminated Site Remediation & Redevelopment’s (CSRR’s) Training Committee will be providing training on various popular topics.

The training will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 9:00 to 11:00 am online only via GoToWebinar (see registration details below). Field Sampling Procedure Manual (FSPM) Chapter 6

Alexander Shelkonovzeff, NJDEP, Bureau of Remedial Action Permitting

FSPM Chapter 6 (November 2022) discusses the recommendations for sampling ground water and method selection for different phases of the remediation. This training will include ground water sampling methods and documentation that should be submitted. The Bureau of Remedial Action Permitting (BRAP) will also be discussing groundwater sampling method selection as it relates to permit establishment and termination.

Administrative Guidance for Green, Sustainable, and Resilient Remediation

Green, Sustainable, and Resilient Remediation is the site-specific employment of products, processes, technologies, and procedures that mitigate contaminant risk to receptors while making decisions that are cognizant of balancing community goals, economic impacts, environmental effects, and considering future impacts of climate change. The Administrative Guidance for Green, Sustainable, and Resilient Remediation was posted on September 21, 2023. Recommendations provided in the guidance and the basis for those recommendations will be discussed.

Online Underground Storage Tank (UST) Registration Service Functions

The UST Registration & Billing Unit launched an online UST Registration Service. The overall functionality of the service, including first time registration of orphan tanks and the delisting of tanks once closed, will be discussed.

DataMiner is a powerful tool for tracking the status of remediation cases. The data available in this application are the same data we use to determine whether a site is in or out of compliance. Tips and tricks for getting the most out of DataMiner will be presented.

Rafael Rivera, NJDEP, Bureau of Case Assignment and Initial Notice

The Remedial Timeframe Notification Form must be submitted to request extensions, lengthening, and media updates to existing timeframes (NJAC 7:26C-3.2(b), NJAC 7:26C-3.5). The session will provide an overview of the forms and offer reminders regarding the upcoming May 2024 deadline.

Continuing Education Credits (CECs):
The NJDEP has received approval from the Site Remediation Professional Licensing Board (SRPLB) for 1.5 Regulatory Credit and 0.5 Technical Credits for this course (#2023-051). Once the CECs are approved, certificates will be made available via an email link to those participants who have requested to receive CECs and meet the requirements. Credits may be applicable to NJ PE licenses, PE licenses from other states, and PG licenses from other states; please verify the requirements that apply to your licenses.

The List of Board-Approved Continuing Education Programs is Available at: After the course, the Licensed Site Remediation Professional Association (LSRPA) will provide eligible attendees detailed instructions via email regarding how to obtain a CEC certificate.
