Aquifer parameterization and estimation of hydraulic conductivity (K) is an important step for characterizing sites with groundwater impacts and a prerequisite for understanding the fate and transport of contaminants in groundwater. These data are generally used by LSRPs to calculate contaminant plume extents in support of a Classification Exception Area (CEA) and/or Remedial Action Permit for Groundwater (GW-RAP). As such, it is important for environmental professionals to know how to calculate hydraulic conductivity so that critical site-specific hydrologic data needs can be identified and fulfilled.
