The Licensed Site Remediation Professionals Association (LSRPA) recently took part in a meeting about Independent Professional Judgment (IPJ) with NJDEP.

IPJ is one of the major cornerstones of NJ’s reformed site remediation process:  LSRPs have  significant independent authority when remediating contaminated sites.  They are the only professional in the remedial process granted the authority to use IPJ -- NJDEP staff and PRCRs are not granted the authority. The use of  IPJ is mandated in SRRA and regulation. In fact, the LSRP must certify that the decisions made are the result of their IPJ.
