Course Title: Updates to the Fill Material Guidance for SRP Sites and Updates to the Historically Applied Pesticides Guidance Training

Course Date and Time: Wednesday, March 9, 2022   9:00AM - 12:00 PM (Virtual)

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP’s) Site Remediation and Waste Management Program (SRWMP) will be providing training on the updates to both the Fill Material Guidance for SRP Sites and Historically Applied Pesticides (HAP) Technical Guidances. The virtual training will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm via GotoWebinar (see registration information below).

Fill Material Guidance for SRP Sites:
The Fill Guidance has been revised (October 2021, Version 4.0) and was made available on the NJDEP/SRP Web Page. This training session will highlight the requirements of the written pre-approval criteria that were published in the August 2018 amendments to the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation for both off-site and on-site use of alternative fill material. Additional topics will include a detailed description of the pre-approval process, sampling of the receiving site and donor material, material considerations (PCBs, recycled concrete-Beneficial Use Determinations, asphalt millings, etc.), and the “essential elements” of a Fill Use Plan.

Historically Applied Pesticide Technical Guidance:
The revised Historically Applied Pesticide (HAP) Technical Guidance, Version 3.1 was posted February 2, 2022. The training session will include a brief overview on HAP and the changes in the guidance document which were made to be consistent with the Department’s Remediation Standards Rule and the Response Action Outcome RAO Guidance document.

The presentation is being delivered remotely and will only be available virtually. NO in-person option for this training is offered at this time. The maximum number of individual participants supported by GoToWebinar for this training is 500. Please do not wait to register if you are interested in attending.
