The Chat will review information that the LSRPA has gleaned from NJDEP in regular meetings and their recent public speeches about the content of a mandatory time frame extension request, when PRCRs and their LSRPs should file the extension, and what other options are available if the PRCR and the LSRP know that the May 2021 Mandatory Remedial Action deadline can’t be met (see that subtitle, above).
 
Despite requests from the LSRPA, the NJDEP has provided essentially no general guidance for a mandatory timeframe extension request other than to not submit a request before more than six months prior to the mandatory or expedited site specific time frame. The LSRPA knows that even without general guidance issued by the NJDEP, there are several content considerations that must be reflected in any request to increase the likelihood for an approved mandatory time frame extension request.
