Course Description:

The conceptual site model is a critical tool that is used to identify sources, receptors and pathways associated with the area of concern and/or site. A CSM provides a valid scientific approach to support professional judgment when applied in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, remediation standards and technical guidance documents.

It is important that LSRPs and environmental professionals have tools to be able to identify sources, receptors and pathways associated with the area of concern and/or site. A CSM can assist the LSRP/environmental professional to communicating effectively with parties about  critical issues, processes identified at the site, and support the remedial decision-making process. This course will include the basics of developing a CSM and its components, resources to support a CSM, and case studies.
