Caryn Barnes, LSRP and LSRPA Board Member, Principal and Leader of the environmental team in Langan’s center city Philadelphia office, was recently honored with the prestigious “Growing Great Women in the Garden State” award at the 9th annual New Jersey Society of Women Environmental Professionals Gala (NJSWEP) at the Wine Room of Cherry Hill, NJ.

Each year this award is given to one woman who is admired for her commitment to the field of environmental protection, conservation, and research; her contributions to communicating and sharing knowledge; her dedication to mentoring the next generation of environmental leaders; and her innovative approach to science and/or policy. Caryn exemplifies these tenets as demonstrated by her extensive involvement with the LSRP Association and participation in several NJDEP regulatory stakeholder groups, her fostering the love of environmental sciences in the next generation and her willingness to mentor and build lasting relationships with tomorrow’s leaders.

At the Gala there was an overwhelming turnout of support for Caryn by a diverse group of SWEP members (some of whom are LSRPA members, like SWEP Co-Chair Elizabeth Limbrick, and some are LSRPA Sponsors, like Riker Danzig, the law firm of SWEP Co-Chair Jillian Mooney), industry peers. LSRPA Board and Steering Committee members  and Langan colleagues.  The evening was a true validation of Caryn’s ability to leave an indelible mark on the people and activities in which she engages. From the glowing introductions she received, to fact that, for the first time in history, attendance for the Gala sold out,  the event was a true testament to the respect and recognition that Caryn has garnered over the years.
