About the LSRPA

At LSRPA, we’re more than just an association—we’re a community of professionals dedicated to protecting New Jersey’s environment and public health through responsible site remediation. Since our founding in 2009, we’ve grown into the leading voice for remediation practitioners across the state.

We’re a nonprofit trade organization (501(c)(6)) built by and for environmental professionals. Our members include Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs), contractors, attorneys, students, and others who share a passion for environmental stewardship and technical excellence.

Our Mission

The LSRPA is a non-profit professional membership organization established to be the preeminent resource for environmental professionals in New Jersey by providing support, information, education and technical resources to LSRPs, other professionals involved in environmental remediation in the State of New Jersey and students pursuing an education in a discipline related to environmental remediation.

What We Do

As the state’s leading voice for site remediation practitioners, we bring together technical expertise, regulatory insight, and a strong professional network to drive meaningful progress in how contaminated sites are remediated and redeveloped in New Jersey. 

We focus on three core areas that matter the most to our members: Advocacy, Education and Collaboration.

Advocacy

We represent the interests of remediation professionals in legislative and regulatory arenas. Our members are actively involved in:

• Reviewing and commenting on draft rules from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP)
• Working on technical guidance documents with NJDEP staff
• Promoting the responsible use of professional judgment in site remediation
• Engaging in stakeholder processes to ensure regulations are practical, science-based, and protective of public health

Education

We offer:

• Continuing education programs tailored to the evolving needs of LSRPs and remediation experts
• Technical and administrative training at discounted rates for members
• Scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in environmental fields
• Timely updates and resources to keep our members ahead of regulatory and technical developments

Collaboration

We foster a strong, inclusive professional network where ideas are shared, challenges are solved, and careers are built. Our collaborative efforts include:

• Regular meetings where members exchange ideas, tackle challenges together and problem solve
• A confidential Sounding Board of subject-matter experts available to all members
• Networking events, conferences, and partnerships with aligned organizations like BCONE and SWEP
• Outreach programs that support aspiring professionals and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field
