Course Description:
Perimeter Air Mon
itoring Programs (PAMPs) are becoming typical on many site remediation proj
ects. There is a need for PAMPs due to the potential for contaminated vapor
s and particulates to impact surrounding populated areas and the increase i
n concern about the adverse health effects due to remedial actions. The NJD
EP Technical Requirements for Site Remediation rule requires a perimeter ai
r monitoring and action plan to be implemented during a remedial action, if
applicable, to monitor and control off-site excursion of dust, vapor, and
odors. In 2022, the NJDEP is expected to release a new guidance document pr
oviding much needed practical triggers, design, and implementation guidance
for PAMPs.
This informative presentation will provide an overvi
ew of the fundamentals and key components of an effective perimeter air mon
itoring program; including:
- PAM Objectives
- Constituents
of Concern
- Conceptual Site Model
- Action Levels
- Equi
pment to Meet Objectives
- Monitoring Locations & Frequency

work. The session will be moderated by David Morris of Tectonic Engineering
.
