Course Description: This course focuses on the widespread presence of naturally occurring (geogenic) contaminants in New Jersey, often exceeding NJDEP standards. It emphasizes the importance of distinguishing between geogenic and anthropogenic sources of contamination, which is crucial for Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs) and environmental practitioners. The course reviews state-wide groundwater data from the New Jersey Private Well Testing Act, along with studies of public and private soil and rock samples.
