Moderator: Stephanie Virgin, Project Scientist, Langan Description: Peter Borbas, PLS, PP of Borbas Surveying and Mapping, LLC, will discuss how Aspiring Professionals need to work with horizontal and vertical datums, such as for monitoring wells, soil borings, and boundaries for deed notices. This presentation will address questions such as: Where do the datums come from, and how many are there?; How do I know which datum I’m in, what do I do if I have questionable or conflicting values?; Why are my GPS values different from yours?; and, What’s this I hear about a new federal 2022 datum, when is it starting, and how will that affect me?
