Aspiring Professionals Series: Borehole Geophysical Logging: Applications for Environmental Site Remediation

Instructors:

Jim Peterson, PG, LSRP
Princeton Geoscience, Inc.
Tim Hull, PG, LSRP
Princeton Geoscience, Inc.

Description:

In this presentation, Aspiring Professionals will learn about borehole geophysical logging, its role in the development and refinement of conceptual site models (CSM), and the applications of many logging tools. The instructors will tackle issues concerning bedding attitude assessment, lithology of bedrock and unconsolidated deposits, borehole deviation, cross-flow hydraulics in a borehole, and location and transmissivities of water‐bearing fractures in a well. Attendees will be encouraged to think about the challenges posed by, and the potential advantages of applying borehole geophysics at environmental remediation sites.
