A key focus in the Sustainable Raritan River Action Plan is addressing contamination and pollution in the Raritan Basin. To further this commitment, the Sustainable Raritan River Initiative has developed a half-day workshop for Wednesday morning, October 22, 2014, to facilitate discussion of how municipalities, non-profits, and other interested parties can engage in the remediation process, build remediation into their local planning efforts, and embrace remediation in economic redevelopment efforts.

Sustainable Jersey and the Center for Urban Environmental Sustainability, the Center for Creative Land Recycling and the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions, NJDEP Site Remediation Program and other organizations focused on remediating and reusing damaged lands will discuss new developments in this area, address how to participate in the LSRP process and will present relevant case studies.

Reserve the morning of October 22 and please RSVP so we can ensure adequate space and materials. Continental breakfast will be served. There is no cost for the workshop other than area parking.

*Workshop location is in The Forum, at the E.J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, 33 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. For those who plan to use public transit, the Bloustein School is within walking distance of the New Brunswick Train Station . The nearest public parking facility is the Morris Street Deck at 70 New Street near the corner of George Street.
